Your therapist will be assigned based on scope of practice, availability, treatment approaches, insurance, and more. Our network of licensed psychotherapists covers a wide variety of mental health issues and specializations.
-
Our goal is to connect you with your therapist as soon as possible. Once we complete a free initial consultation call and gather your preferences, we will immediately match you with a licensed mental health professional. Intake assessment appointments are usually scheduled 1 week from completion of the initial consultation call.
-
To get started on our online platform, we will send you an e-mail that will provide a link to your Client Portal. The Client Portal is an encrypted, secure way that you will be able to communicate and complete any treatment documentation. Once you access your Client Portal through the e-mail link, you will be able to see the intake documents that we will share with you. You will need to complete the intake documents within 48 hours to give us enough time to set up insurance and streamline the assessment process.
-
Your first appointment will involve completing an initial assessment with your mental health therapist. On the day of the appointment, you will receive an e-mail link that will connect you directly with your therapist through your web browser. You won’t need to download or install any applications to connect to the session.

This will vary based on your payment method. If you are using your insurance benefits, you can call the customer service number on the back of your card to confirm your specific benefits. You can ask, “What are my behavioral health benefits?” to find out how much you would pay for a therapy session. If you are using an EAP, you will normally have a certain number of free sessions before you have to pay with your insurance benefits or out-of-pocket. To use your EAP, it’s best to call them ahead of time. They will then give you a reference number which you will need to send to Cornerstone Behavioral Health prior to your first appointment.

A copayment, or copay, is a flat fee for a healthcare service or a prescription drug that is predetermined by an individual’s health insurance plan. Copays are one way that insurance companies share the cost of medical services with policyholders, the fees being paid depending on the plan, medical service or drug. These fees are just a percentage of the actual cost of the services paid for by the insurance company.
-
We collect your credit card information before your first appointment to ensure we can collect all no-show fees, co-payments, co-insurance, and deductible fees. This also improves the therapy experience by taking care of financial information up-front so you can focus on treatment in session. Billing specialists take care of insurance claims and payments so your therapist can focus on providing you uninterrupted care, rather than administrative tasks.

Cornerstone Behavioral Health has a 24-hour cancellation policy. The day before your scheduled appointment, you will receive a text message requesting you confirm or cancel your scheduled appointment. To cancel an appointment, simply click the text link and select the cancel option.
